Slow Lane Superstars

You would be surprised at the comeraderie that is shared among swimmers. I think there is something quite touching about a group of people in one place all with different motivations, smiling and greeting each other on a daily basis. No one asks why you are there, but everyone is happy to see you it seems.

In the slow lane, there are a variety of characters. Personally, despite my desire to progress to the next level and therefore the next lane, I would miss these folk. There doesn't seem to be quite the same level of friendliness.
So we have

Splash - her unncessary kick splashing unites us all as we give each other sympathetic looks when splashed in the face

Hair Clip Lady - the sweetest calmest lady you'll probably ever meet. She swims so so slowly that you could easily just walk behind her but she is so content that it really doesn't affect you. She often gets cut up and overtaken by impatient Splash.

Ear Plug Man - another friendly face who always has his earplugs in and always says hi and often gets caught behind Splash.

Floating Lady - loves to float backwards in the water for long periods of time, relaxing or something. She looks very serious and I am building up the courage to ask her what she is doing...

So those are the main people we share our lane with.
God knows what they are thinking about us...
